? Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Saratoga Springs, NY
Support Your Immune System and Recovery Naturally
At Bodywork Professionals in Saratoga Springs, we specialize in lymphatic drainage massage — a gentle, therapeutic approach focused on the body’s lymphatic system, not the muscles. Unlike deep tissue or Swedish massage, this technique uses light, rhythmic movements to stimulate lymph flow just beneath the skin’s surface, helping to detoxify and support your body’s natural healing processes.
The lymphatic system plays a vital role in your immune function by removing waste, toxins, and cellular debris through a network of vessels and lymph nodes. By promoting better circulation of lymphatic fluid, this massage can:
-
Boost your immune response
-
Reduce swelling and inflammation
-
Improve recovery time from illness or surgery
-
Enhance your overall wellness and energy levels

Why Choose Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Saratoga Springs?
Disruptions in your lymphatic system can lead to uncomfortable swelling, especially in the arms and legs. This buildup of lymph fluid — often seen as lymphedema — may occur after surgery, cancer treatments involving lymph node removal, infections, or other trauma to the lymphatic system.
At Bodywork Professionals in Saratoga Springs, our lymphatic drainage massage therapy is designed to gently encourage the movement of lymph fluid throughout the body. By stimulating this natural flow, clients experience:
-
Reduced swelling in targeted areas
-
Improved circulation of lymphatic and immune cells
-
Faster recovery after illness or surgery
-
Relief from fluid retention and inflammation
This non-invasive, light-touch massage is a safe and effective way to support your body’s ability to cleanse itself and restore balance.
Whether you’re managing post-surgical swelling or looking to maintain optimal wellness, lymphatic massage in Saratoga Springs is a holistic option that promotes gentle healing from the inside out.
After the 2 week period the client is urged to seek out regular appointments with a massage therapist. At this time the drains will be removed and the client’s body will be relearning how to drain internally. The therapist will assist by using light slow movements to encourage the fluid to drain into the lymph nodes which will lead to the liver and kidneys. This decreases pressure and inflammation that can make recovery uncomfortable.
For those new to this I recommend a 60 minute appointment to start. That gives us time to do a little work without overwhelming the body. It also gives the therapist enough time to assess where the body is in the healing process and how much support it will need going forward. For some, getting treatment several times a week may be recommended. For others, one session a week or even every 2 weeks may be sufficient. There is no “1 size fits all” situation, each person’s body recovers differently, even if your surgery was short.
When filling out the intake online please give us as much information as possible. If there were any complications or you also had any other procedures such as a BBL, please make sure to include that in your notes; it greatly affects positioning and treatment.
All lymphatic drainage sessions must be prepaid.
