On Saturday the 7th of January, 2017 my baby daughter Ophelia was born at 3:15 am.

I’ll never forget watching her make her way into this world. We waited to find out the gender and I had the honor to tell my wife it was a girl just as she had hoped all along. The nurse (a family friend by total luck!)  gave her to me ad I got to breath her first little breath. This new being with a heart and lungs, taste buds and fingernails. A healthy baby girl. I am a mas blessed. 

I see why it’s called labor now, and I’m just so proud of my wife.  Woman are miracle makers, and I remember running out to the waiting room to hug my mom after. She is recovering wonderfully and we’ve had a great week together.

I’m more excited about poop than I’ve ever been. I’ve changed my first diaper or two thousand, and everything they say about sleepless nights in true.
