Kayla Moniot

Ashiatu Therapist

Kayla is known as being “The Ashi Therapist”. She studied massage therapy and licensed since 2008, Kayla always had a calling to study Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. In 2016 she traveled to Philly, PA and studied under Deepfeet master Kate Freese of Blue Buddha Healing Arts. Kayla is certified in Ashiatsu and Ashi Thai massage through the Deepfeet Therapy. Ashiatsu (ah-shee-aht-soo) is the practice of using bare feet on the body instead of hand based massage by holding onto suspended ceiling bars and standing on a massage table. It is described as a deep, broad compression with long, slow strokes working into the muscle tissue. It is successful in breaking up muscular adhesions, restricted fascia and relieving stress. If you like a deep massage, you will LOVE this exotic treatment. Kayla then took an apprenticeship under Deepfeet master Dawn Dotson of Barefoot Space in Delmar, NY in 2018.

Kayla has managed teams in Saratoga spas and designed specialty services with training and protocols. She prefers to focus her attention on her clients and their care. Kayla’s Swedish style massage is considered therapeutic with a relaxing “hands on” approach often spending specialized attention to where the body feels it’s most needed. Her mission in each session is to address and relieve some chronic tension within the muscular skeletal system without causing bruising or inflammation, which can occur with other more aggressive techniques.

Her style is slow with depth, therapeutic with a myofascial style of treatment. She’s also known to give an otherworldly Hot Stone Massage. She is multi licensed and holds a NYS Cosmetology license as well which she utilized most for natural nail services and body scrubs/wraps. Other interests of hers are her three children, indoor and outdoor gardening, earth minerals and crystal hounding locally, or escaping into a fantasy romance novel. She’s an anatomy junkie, loves learning about the human body, a forever student, and is drawn to the connection between body and spirit, and all the knowledge in between.
