Kai Bucanan

Staff Therapist

It is my honor to support you on your journey to greater health and wellness. I am a recent graduate of the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy, though my path in healing began much earlier.

Raised in the mountains of Santa Cruz, California, I grew up immersed in holistic health practices. My mother, a licensed acupuncturist, and my father, a licensed massage therapist, held weekly wellness days for our family. These early experiences of giving and receiving treatments nurtured a deep appreciation for the body’s innate ability to heal. My brother and I would even join in, often walking on our parents’ backs, what I later learned was a traditional technique called Ashiatsu.

I earned my degree from the University of California in Film and Digital Media, drawn by a love for aesthetics and a deep interest in art. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, this training would later enrich my work in massage, sharpening my sensitivity to form, flow, and the subtle expressions of the body in motion.

My passion for healing deepened after sustaining several injuries from surfing and rock climbing. Left with chronic pain and restricted neck mobility, I turned to massage and craniosacral therapy and experienced firsthand their power to restore balance and vitality. With my pain resolved and mobility regained, I felt called to share what I had learned.

In addition to massage therapy, I bring to each session a lifelong background in yoga and holistic wellness. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, pain relief, or deeper connection to your body, I offer a grounded, intuitive approach that honors your unique path to healing.
